Adelaide Group

Adelaide Group

Our members come from the Adelaide metropolitan area and from the nearby Adelaide Hills.
Our aims are to investigate, propagate and distribute species indigenous to the Adelaide Plains and Adelaide Hills although this does not exclude species from outside our region. We also aim to assist in the conservation of rare and endangered species throughout Australia.
We meet monthly at the Unley Community Centre with either a guest speaker or other activity organised for each meeting. Other aspects of the meetings are:
  • a raffle with plants grown by our members as prizes
  • a display of the plants in flower for the particular month with a short talk about the plants from members who have brought them along
  • cuttings for propagation are often provided
  • members are encouraged to show photos of successes in their gardens together with failures
  • social get together after the meeting with tea, coffee and cake provided.
We also organise visits to members’ gardens and to public gardens and areas such as the Urrbrae Wetlands.
Some of our members are involved in revegetation projects.
